"Handwoven Magazine" has so many opportunities to learn. One
of them is their http://weavingtoday.com . I decided to join their
"Weave-Along".
The people at "Handwoven Magazine" picked a two-block design
from Mary Atwater's "Shuttle Craft Book of American Handweaving".
(See Picture A).
I decided to weave a BLOCK TWILL (Picture B). I used my
LeClerc 8 shaft Voyager loom and threaded it in a gold color using
5/2 pearl cotton sett at 20 ends per inch. I wove with a 5/2 pearl
cotton in a black color.
Then I repeated the weave so it was double in length. (Picture C)
Below the woven fabrics you will find a picture of me holding the bag I wove in block twill. I also wove the strap on my inkle loom (Picture D).
I love to make dolls so I created "Amy". She is wearing her block twill
dress. I decided to needle felt her head and the flower that she is
holding. Amy is below the picture of me holding the block twill bag
(Picture E).
