CHAYA NESSA - LOVER OF FLOWERS:
Chaya Nessa loves flowers. I designed this
doll and wove the fabric for her clothes. She
is named after my youngest granddaughter.
This is the doll that appears on page 376 of
the book "500 HANDMADE DOLLS:
MODERN EXPLORATIONS OF THE
HUMAN FORM" published by Lark Books.
CHAYA NESSA'S GOLD AND BROWN SKIRT:
This skirt was woven on the same warp as the
flowered blouse using doubled 2/17 wool. The
yellow weft is also 2/17 wool. I used a pattern
from "A Weaver's Book of 8-Shaft Pattern:
Edited by Carol Strickler, page 28, pattern 97p
for this weave.
CHAYA NESSA'S BLOUSE & SKIRT TRIM FABRIC:
The weave for this blouse is an 8 harness reverse
twill. I used 2/17 wool doubled for the warp and for
the alternate tabby (plain weave) and 5/2 pearl
cotton doubled for the flower design. This flower
was my own design.
